It all started with an idea;

After 15+ years in the restaurant industry, owner Billy Oakley saw a niche in the Lexington food scene that needed to be filled; a place where people could gather and enjoy great locally-sourced food and drinks in a comfortable, casual atmosphere, all for a reasonable price. A neighborhood place. A local place.

In the winter of 2014 the idea for Locals’ was born. And after a little bit of luck, lots of hard work and a generous amount of learning experiences, the idea became a reality. We want all of our guests to know that they will be getting great cocktails and delicious food with customizable portions to suit them and their occasion. All delivered to them by a top-notch staff in an upscale yet casual atmosphere.

Chef Darren Pirozzi

Executive Chef Darren Pirozzi knew what he wanted to be from the age of three, and after attending Sarasota Technical Institute and Johnson & Wales University, he began his career in Miami and came to Lexington a decade ago. Honing his skills in various kitchens including Bella Notte and Distilled, he is proud and excited to have his own kitchen in which to showcase his "Farm to Plate" philosophy.
